Our Story

DARCYCO began with a simple idea: that a candle can take you somewhere. Each of our scents is inspired by a place we love, from first light over Paris to high tide in Sydney, and is created to bring a little of that feeling into your home.

Every candle is made by hand, in small batches, right here in Australia. Here's what that looks like, from an empty jar to the box at your door.

STEP 01

It starts with the vessel

Every jar is laid out by hand before anything else happens. Then each wick is set in the centre of its jar and held straight with a wick bar, so the candle burns evenly from the first light to the last.

STEP 02

Poured by hand

Each candle is hand-poured with scented soy wax, one jar at a time. High Tide in Sydney goes in a soft ocean blue; the wick bar stays on until the wax has set.

STEP 03

Set and finished

Once the wax has set, the wick bars come off and each candle is finished by hand before it's ready to go.

STEP 04

Wrapped with care

Every candle is wrapped in tissue and presented in its own keepsake box, so it's as lovely to give as it is to keep.
